Marketing as a concept has existed long before theInternet. The four Ps of marketing are well known Product, Price,Place, and Promotion. Approaching the consumer through the Internet is really different than through green media. Marketers had to thinktwice, now they must think trice. Marketers, however, yield a wideraudience and in some cases, they may have the whole world as anaudience. Consumers have many more choices and they are free toconvince themselves before they buy. Consumers actively go to thelocation of their interest, and they are not passive anymore. Internetis a medium that offers many tool s for the marketers and a wide rangeof choices for the consumers.1 Introduction==============The way of marketing changed because the Internet is used as a medium.In the past, the way of marketing had to adjust to new media inseveral cases. For example, when the radio appeared or even betterwhen the TV became a domestic must. Internet, however, is a mediumdifferent from the crude ones. For the first time, the consumer isnot passive and is seen as the end user.This has changed the way marketers must work in order to succeed usingthe Internet to agitate products. This change however did not happenin one day. Internet exists for more than two decades. Its use as amarketing media, however, started recently.The purpose of this repute is to investigate how marketing using theInternet is different from using other media. This investigation isseparated in two views (1) the merchants scope, and (2) the consumersscope.Merchants do not have an unprovoked job as it is thought by many people .Marketing using the Internet is not an easy task. One can loose itsseverity very easily. Nevertheless, there are many benefits if usedproperly.Consumers can use their free will in order to choose where they wantto go and not where they are told to go.
